Taralga is one of the most beautiful, historic and surprising townships in the Southern Tablelands.
On the way to the spectacular Wombeyan Caves, Taralga is a friendly and character-filled town, known for its fine collection of buildings from the 1800s, emerging foodie scene, vintage furniture store, art gallery and home to the famous Taralga Australia Day Rodeo and Art Show.
Built on land donated by the son of wool pioneer John Macarthur, Taralga was cleared and developed by convicts in the mid 1800s. Explore this history on the self-guided Taralga Heritage Walking Tour, which takes you past the heritage listed Christ the King Catholic Church.
