Orchard Street Gallery
A couple of ‘blow-ins’ from Sydney purchased the old saddlery building on Orchard Street in 2021 and are creating an arts hub and community gallery space .
The gallery presents regularly changing solo and group exhibitions of modern and contemporary Australian art, with a strong commitment to artists from the Southern Tablelands and Australian artists with a focus on representing the natural world.
Gallery owners Bob Withers and Jo Morris are practicing artists themselves, so of course they are keen to incorporate their own work into the exhibition schedule. Regular workshops and life drawing classes will also be a part of the timetable. Positioned as it is right next to the Memorial Hall (and public toilet facilities) and just a few meters from Grand Ettie Cafe, the Taralga General Store, Thirty Six Orchard Street, Brown Paper Wines and Love Vintage, all on the main street of Taralga, Orchard Street Gallery is in a prime position for visitors.
Sydney artist Thomas Jackson is part of our extended artist community, and we are thrilled to have his work as a permanent fixture on the facade of the gallery. The image of a male Splendid Fairy Wren and local wattle species is a much admired addition to the main street.
