From fallen timber, he sculpts bespoke chairs, stands, tables, stools, racks ... works of art that furnish a home and bring the natural world inside.

Covid recovery Rodeo - 28 January 2023
Taralga Rodeo & Campdraft is held annually over the Australia Day long weekend with all money raised donated back into our local community.

Taralga Spring presents ODETTE live
Continuing on from the very successful ‘Taralga Winter’ event we are Spreading the LOVE into rural NSW with ARIA-nominated musician Odette coming to our town Taralga to perform tracks from her albums ‘To a stranger’ and ‘Herald’.

Orchard Street Gallery Grand Opening
We had a beautiful clear blue sky and crisp Tablelands temperature for our Grand Opening on Saturday 30th July. We invited our friends, family and neighbours to see our work and witness local Gundungurra elder David King offer a ‘Welcome to Country’ ceremony in the driveway next to the gallery.

Art Show success
Hundreds of people came to town between Saturday 11th and Monday 13th June for the annual Taralga Art Show, this year celebrating its 20th anniversary after two years of cancellations due to Covid.
91 artists entered 299 artworks in a multitude of media, making the highest number of sales in the show’s history.
Even though the weather was cold and windy, there were non-stop crowds of people enjoying food, wine and art over the Queens Birthday weekend. Saturday night saw a packed-out Memorial Hall, where the official opening included an entertaining interlude by local cartoonist Warren Brown.
Visitors to the show over the weekend numbered close to 1500.
All proceeds went to the Taralga Progress Association.

‘Taralga Winter’ progressive dinner
The inaugural seasonal event produced as a collaboration between four local businesses went ahead on Saturday 16th July at 6pm.

Artist - Thomas Jackson
You may have noticed a few murals around Taralga recently. Australia’s most popular bird the Fairy Wren on the outside of the soon to open Orchard Street Gallery and the Blue Tounge Lizard on the street facing wall of the Taralga Sports Club.
Both of these murals were painted by Sydney artist Thomas Jackson, Thomas visits Taralga on a regular basis - if you would like to talk to him about a commission get in touch!

Love Vintage OPEN for business
Another newcomer to our town is Love Vintage Taralga, where Amanda Sallybanks and Cate McKenzie have become purveyors of antique and vintage furnishings. Their background in film and TV production has given them an excellent eye for interesting pieces covering mid-century, retro, antique, industrial, and anything classified as exhibiting long-lasting quality.

Mural for the Sports Club
The latest street art project for Taralga is the Thomas Jackson mural depicting a Blue Tongue Lizard and the super small local bird species you may not be familiar with called the Pardolote.

Orchard Street Gallery
The gallery presents regularly changing solo and group exhibitions of modern and contemporary Australian art, with a strong commitment to artists from the Southern Tablelands and Australian artists with a focus on representing the natural world.

Historical Society 50th anniversary
The museum is open Saturdays from 10am to 2pm and is staffed by volunteers. The entry fee is $5 per adult, children under 16 years are free. Enquiries from individuals, small and large groups, car clubs etc are welcome and the museum can be opened to meet their needs
“Always was, always will be …”
A good size crowd witnessed the unveiling of another welcome to our town. The brain child of local artist Mango, the sign forms an important part of the fabric of Taralga.
